ISABELLA.marie.SWAN
Character Info
Name: Isabella Marie Swan
Age: seventeen
Gender: female
Species: human
Ability: n/a
Personality:
isabella swan is a danger magnet. everywhere she goes, pain and crisis are her constant companions. every other moment, it seems, she is in jeopardy. which may be part of the reason edward is so very protective over her. it's not that she even goes deliberately looking for trouble either, it seems to find her by itself, though there have been moments where she has caused the disarray herself, such as the motorcycle incident, and the cliff-diving. bells doesn't exactly think things through before she does them, much to edward's annoyance. and it does end her up in sticky situations sometimes. bella's a more, i'll deal with consequences now than later girl. unless it's something she doesn't want to do, that she's worrying about. then there is nothing she can think about more. bella does worry quite a lot. she never tells anyone of course, bella prefers to keep her worries bottled up. she's quite a closed person, not very honest with her feelings. she doesn't lie about them, but bella prefers to keep them to herself. especially if what she's feeling/thinking could cause anyone hurt. the only person who can really get her thoughts out of her is edward, she would do anything for that... vampire. bella is only completely open and honest in her dreams. much to her annoyance and embarrassment, isabella sleep-talks. all her emotions and thoughts come out when she's asleep, dreaming. you can decipher so much from what she says when she is not aware that she's even saying it.
bella is an inquisitive young woman. she is not the type to ask countless questions (so much so that it becomes annoying), but she mulls things over in her head, always wondering about them. she tends to find things out for herself, rather than to ask. she can do her research! she hates not knowing things, it annoys her. bella really dislikes things being kept from her, secrets. bella does quite a lot of thinking. though she has never told him, bells is glad that edward cannot read her thoughts. at least she can think freely without intrusion. he's pretty good at guessing anyway, but at least she can be sure that he has no way of knowing her true imaginings it would be incredibly embarrassing if he could! bella does not talk a lot (perhaps part of the reason why she and jessica stanley were not the best of friends). she talks when there's something to say, and not for the sake of talking. bella does a lot more thinking than she does talking. she's a smart girl, always doing her work on time (though partly because she sometimes runs out of things to do). bella's never found school particularly hard (save pe. bella is highly uncoordinated and horrible at all physical recreation). she likes reading, though she tends to read one book over and over... and over (wuthering heights, despite edward's protests, saying that she needs new books, and that it's not really that good). bella can put two and two together. she is good at deductive reasoning

Overall Description:
Bella has been described by the author, Stephanie Meyer, as being: "very fair-skinned, with long, straight, dark brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. Her face is heart-shaped—a wide forehead with a widow's peak, large, wide-spaced eyes, prominent cheekbones, and then a thin nose and a narrow jaw with a pointed chin. Her lips are a little out of proportion, a bit too full for her jaw line. Her eyebrows are darker than her hair and more straight than they are arched. She's five foot four inches tall, slender but not at all muscular, and weighs about 115 pounds. She has stubby fingernails because she has a nervous habit of biting them."
History:
Charlie and Renee swan did love each other, they wouldn't have got married if they did not. but after finding that Renee was pregnant, things got a little awkward between them. not because neither were happy to become parents, more out of worry, and tension between them. Renee moved to forks, Charlie's town, when they found out about the new baby, and Isabella Marie Swan was born on September thirteenth nineteen eighty seven to charlie and Eenee swan in Forks, Washington. Forks was a very small town, with a population of little over 3000. And Renee and Charlie had never really taken the time to think before they got married and had a kid. After moving in with Charlie in the unbearably quiet town, Renee began to realize the mistake she had made in marrying Charlie, and how she did not love him quite as much as she had initially thought. and how the town bored her. Charlie was just to safe for Renee, who wanted to see the world, take some risks in life. as much as she did love charlie, and their baby girl, it was not enough. so Renee left, taking Bella with her, explaining that she would just be stuck in forks forever if she did not leave immediately.
Renee liked the heat. so eventually, after a bit of traveling around a little, Bella and her mother ended up in phoenix, arizona. Bella loved the heat in Arizona. she matured very quickly when she was there. Renee had given up a little on dating. she wanted to focus on her daughter, to raise her well, and be a good mother. but Renee was very clumsy, and got distracted easily. she had her crazy, adventurous ideas that Bella came to realize were just that, and she ended up having to stop her mother from all her crazy schemes. She might as well have raised herself, poor girl. not that Bella minded at all. Renee was her best friend, despite the many other people of her age around phoenix. Bella had to put up with Renee's many fetishes, including ballet. for some reason, Renee got the idea into her head that Bella would be great at ballet. this was quite the opposite of the truth. In fact, ballet helped to spark Bella's dislike for dancing. after some complaining to her mother, she dropped out, hoping never to set foot in a ballet studio again. Unfortunately, she would not get her wish.
Despite the fact Renee had left, and divorced charlie swan, she did not want to stop her little girl from ever seeing her father. throughout Bella's childhood, she visited her father in forks during school breaks. as much as she loved her father, Isabella swan hated forks. it was cold, and dull, and under a near constant cover of rain and cloud. Bella loved Arizona's heat, and she missed her home. When down in forks, Bella would visit Charlie's best friend, billy black, on the la push reservation, and though she did not remember him when she returned to forks to live later in life, met her future best friend, and billy's son, Jacob. Despite Charlie's attempts to keep Bella interested, she still dreaded every trip that was planned to see her father. So eventually, when she got a little older, Bella managed to convince charlie to visit her in phoenix instead of having to journey to forks every summer. He reluctantly agreed, at least he was still going to see his daughter, just a little further from home.
Bella passed through school with ease, not a very popular girl, but not a total outcast either. being a smart girl, she did not have trouble with the work, and had a small group of friends during school hours. Though Renee was always her best friend as soon as the bell rang. but then things changed. despite her mother's no dating policy, Renee met Phil dwyer, an aspiring baseball player. they just clicked. Renee broke her own rule, and started dating Phil. soon they were engaged. Soon after they were married. But Bella didn't mind. Phil was a nice guy, and her mother deserved some company for when Bella eventually left home, this was not the problem. Phil was a Baseballer, and traveled around a lot with his team, visiting different areas for games. next stop: Jacksonville. of course, this would not be a permanent move. Renee did offer to stay with her daughter in phoenix, but Bella refused. Her mother needed her own life, and her husband. She could live without her. and so, in the middle of her junior year, Bella moved back to forks, on a permanent basis, for the first time since she was a very young girl. charlie was, of course, ecstatic (though he never admitted it to her face).
However, Charlie had not been a full-time father for years, literally. He had sort of forgotten what to do. not that Bella minded, being that it was she who looked after Renee most of the time, and not the other way around. She insisted that she could handle herself while charlie spent long days at the station, where he worked as police chief of the town. She took to cooking for him every night, once she settled in. On her arrival in forks, Charlie Swan decided to treat her to her own car. If you could call it treating he got it free from his best friend billy black. and being the smart girl she was, Bella figured this one out. But did not mention it, the car was just so perfect for her. Well, it was a truck really, from the fifties, which billy's son had fixed up for her. Bella drove it to high school on her first day there. Everyone was fascinated by the new girl. A lot tried to get close to her, to ask her questions. Bella sat with a girl from her Spanish class at lunch, Jessica, and her rather big group of friends. It was then that her life took the first step towards a huge change. She spotted them. A group of five students, all sat together at the table. Bella asked Jessica, who, it became immediately clear, was a talkative girl, of the mysterious, pale faced people across the hall. All of them had skin a snowy white, and were exceedingly and shockingly beautiful. The Cullens, Jess explained. But she also said that they kept to themselves. I don't waste your time. they were also all together. apart from one.
Later that day, Bella just happened to sit next to that one in biology class. Edward Cullen. Though she would never admit it aloud, Bella was curious about him. The only seat free was beside the Cullen boy, and so she took it. He was not as happy as she. In fact, he seemed quite disgusted at the prospect of sitting beside Isabella Swan. The whole time, Bella was sure that he was trying to keep from puking. She could not understand it. She did not smell, did she? no one else seemed to have a problem with her. This Edward was different. and it became apparent that he had a problem with her when Bella heard him arguing with the secretary, in an attempt to change his biology class (with no success). As if he had not hurt her feelings enough already purely by his reaction. no, Edward had to change classes, to stay away from Bella. She could not help but be hurt, angry, normal human reactions, But she was also... curious. As to what was so repulsive about her. Bella wanted answers.
