Miley sighed. "That sucks but I know what you mean," she said smiling a little. "My father died before my mother got a chance to tell him she was pregnant and my mother turned into an alcoholic and an abusing person and I was taking in by my grandmother, which is why I'm not giving you this pile of pity," she said smiled slightly. "I hate when I get those piles," she swong a little more wanting for any reaction from Clara.

Clara listened and nodded, feeling sympathy for her. She'd had a rough life, by anyone's standards. "Yeah, I hate those piles too," She said, "I'm mean, if I seem to be okay with it, I don't really want anyone else feeling sorry for me." It often times made her wonder if people didn't have problems of their own to worry about. So often, she would make something else up about her parents. But she'd be seeing a lot of Miley it would seem, so it didn't make a whole lot of sense for her to keep up a lie like that, considering she had much more important things to lie about. Like the fact that she wasn't human.

Miley nodded in agreement. Clara had a point, though at the begining when Miley had just started school she liked the pity people felt for her it made her feel better. But as time passed the pity just grew completely annoying and not wecomed so Miley was glad, in a weird way, that Clara had had a tough life because that meant that Miey would not get the pile of pity. "Trust me it's better not to tell. When I came I got this enormous pile so I suggest to just try to keep it to yourself.

"Yeah, that's probably a good idea," She said, "Hopefully a lot of people just won't ask about it." It would be so much easier if the other students just didn't ask about what happened about her parents. It would mean one less lie to keep track of, less chance that the story would end up mixed up. Not that she often had trouble losing track of the story they were telling, but she'd never had to maintain for a very long period of time. But who knew how long they'd be around?

Miley nodded. "You could just lie and tell everyone that your parents are traveling and you were tried of traveling with them so are staying with your cousin," suggested Miley. In her mind the idea didn't seem half bad so she pretty much was already making different reactions of teh people who they would be telling th story too. Most would probably not believe her but if Miley was there backing her up maybe they would in the end.

"Yeah, I'm sure that would work," Clara said, nodding in agreement. It wasn't unlike stories they'd used before, and usually they didn't get many further questions about it. Usually it was just things like were her parents were traveling, why they didn't want to travel with them anymore, things of that nature. There were some who out and out didn't believe them, but a fake postcard usually set them straight, though they had been absolutely right in the first place. And if Miley backed her up, she probably wouldn't need the postcards at all.

Miley smiled brightly. "Anything for a friend," she said calming. She was telling the truth she would do anything for Clara because she considered them friends and Miley needed a friend and she figuered Clara would too and that was completely fine with Miley. "You wanna hang out at the movies tomorrow or something?" she asked glancing at Clara.

Clara smiled as Miley called her a friend. Her first real friend other than her brother in 175 years. She was doing well in that aspect. Hopefully, though, it wouldn't come back to bite her in the ass once they'd started to undo the Volturi's grip on power. She wouldn't want to see the girl as a potential target. She nodded eagerly at her suggestion to go to the movies. "Yeah, sure, that'd be great," She said, pulling out a shiny new cell phone, something she and Jack had both just gotten to keep in touch. "What's your number?" She asked.

Miley gave Clara her number and also pulled out a phone. "Yours?" she asked smiling. It was getting very late and if Miley wanted to sneak in her house she would have to be very quiet because if she woke her Grandmother up she would call the police dn make another speech about how much of a hassle it was to raise a teenager...again. "I must be going soon," she added sadly. She knew she must as she didn't want to hear antoher speech.

Clara entered Miley's number into her phone, then gave the girl her's. She nodded when she told her that she'd have to go. "Alright," She said, though she was a bit reluctant to see her new friend go so soon. But surely someone had to notice that she was gone. No one gave her any touble about getting in late. She was, after all, by human standards, much past elderly. "I'll see you around, then, I guess," She said, giving a small smile. She knew she'd see the teenager again soon enough.
