Miley looked around. It was the middle of the night and there was no one in the park. She stuffed her hands into her pockets and kept walking. She enjoyed the park at night, it gave her time to think but on this very night something was slightly off. She sighed and kept walking until she came to a stop at the little playground that was close by. She sat on a swing and looked at the floor. She was wearing shorts and jacket, something that would never really match but she didn't care. The jacket kept her warm while the shorts gave her freedom. She wasn't making a sound so when hearing the tinest footstep her head looked up sharply in that direction.

Clara walked quietly through the park, enjoying the peace of the night. She made no real effort at being silent; she could smell no one around who might be a threat to her. She had just arrived in Forks, along with her brother. She wasn't entirely sure how long they would be in the town. They had spent little time in Romania, as it had taken little time and effort to recruit the coven there to their cause. There were, after already, only two there, and she and Jack were all sure of their hatred for the Volturi. They were more than happy to help participate in taking them down. But there were seven members of the Cullen family, and they weren't how they'd feel about the idea.
As she went along, she realized she wasn't alone in the park. There was human girl walking close by-it made Clara wonder why she was out so late. She spotted the girl, who suddenly turned in her direction, looking right at her. She saw no need to hide, so she took a few steps forward, towards a lamp post. "Um...hi," She said, giving a slight wave. She was grateful the moon was new tonight, so that she didn't have to worry about glowing in the moonlight.

Miley smiled a little. The girl seemed normal enough to not bite her or anything of teh kind. She stood up and extended her had. "Hi I'm Miley," she said rolling her eyes as she said her name. You could say Miley wasn't very fond of her name wishig it was something more exciting but she was happy at the same time because I was her great grandmother's name. The only person who really understood Miley. "But most people call me Miles," she added quickly. Truthfully she wished it was something that she could be proud of but Miley was just so dull in her view. She didn't drop her smile thought hating to smile in the first place.

Clara reached out and shook her hand. "Nice to meet you, Miles," She said, making sure that she used her nickname. The girl didn't seem to like her actual name very much. "I'm Clara," She introduced herself. She liked her name, though it was a bit out of the ordinary. In her defense, it had been popular when her parents named her. It just happened that her parents had named her in the 19th century. People today just assumed her parents liked old fashion names, or that she'd been named after a grandmother or something like that. Those were the explanations she herself normally gave. "So what are you doing out so late?"

Miley shurgged she didn't really have a reason persay just wanted to be outside in the dark where less to nearly none people would bug her not that Clara bugged her or anything. "Nice to meet you too Clara," said Miley after a very shot pause. She looked of to the side trying to think of things that could be a good topic starter. "So uh did you just move here?" she asked politely. It was a good question to ask and it could start up a conversation about themselves and their lives.

So Miley wasn't out here for any particular reason, so it would seem. There wasn't anything wrong with that. Clara was really just out there to get a feel for the town, which she could've just as easily done during the day, but she was up now. She gave a short nod at her question. "Yeah, we-my brother and I-just moved here," She said, "Well, sort of. We aren't sure how long we're going to stay." She wasn't sure why she told her all that; it would've been just as simple to leave it as they'd just moved there.

Miley nodded. Perfect that was just what she needed a topic to talk about. "Your brother?" she questioned raising an eyes. "Do you like your brother?" she asked looking up at her. It was a simple quesiton and it would have a good responce. In Miley's mind the scene would flip when Clara would ask about her family and Miley would try to avoid the subject and Clara would notice and then Miley would spill. Of course it was was mostly was expected but you never knew what happened when you dealed with real people.

"Yeah, I do like him," She told her with a nod, "He gets on my nerves sometimes, but I still love him." No matter how much Jack annoyed her-and she was sure she got on his nerves at times too-she still cared about him. If she hadn't, she wouldn't be traipsing around the world with him right now. "What about your family?" She asked, curious, "Do you have any brothers or sisters or anything?" Jack, and their "grandfather" Titanus, were really her only family. Most of the other children of the moon wanted nothing to do with their creator, unlike her mother, who'd befriended him.

Miley laughed a little. "Yeah boys are annoying," she agreed but at her next question she looked down for a second and then back up at Clara. She knew this time would come as it usually did when meeting someone new. "Um no I'm an only child," she said smiling slightly. She knew that there was really nothing she could do about it anyway so why regret the inedable? "But it's not bad really," she hated when people felt bad for her even if it was just for a momment, she didn't enjoy it at all.

Clara gave a slight chuckle at her comment about boys. She nodded as she spoke of being an only child, adding quickly that it wasn't that bad. "Its probably nice, to have more time to yourself," She said, "But I think I'd miss having a sibling." She decided to change the subject for a moment. "So, do you go to school around here?" She asked. She'd been considering enrolling in the local high school, since she'd never gone to high school before. It seemed like it would be an interesting experience, and it would be nice to know that there was at least one familiar face there.

Miley nodded. "Yeah time on my own is awesome," she had meant to say it sarcasticly but that hadn't really worked out as she sounded normal to her own ears. She nodded at Clara's next question. "Yep have been since I was four," she raised an eyebrow. "You planning on attention Forks High or the high school down by the rez?" it was a good question. Most people Miley meet would stay and attend in Forks but there was those that would leave and attend school on the rez.

Clara smirked at her response, hearing a hint of sarcasm in the girl's voice. Years of wariness had made it easy for her to pick up on more subtle cues in people's body language and voice. "Forks High School, most likely," She told her. La Push was a place she and Jack weren't sure about going to. They were aware of the fact that a shapeshifter pack was forming there, and when they'd encountered shapeshifters in the past, it often held the potential to go either way. The pack there might be a good group of allies to have-but they weren't going to approach them just yet. So going to the high school there was definitely out of the question.

Miley smiled. "Cool I guess I'll see you in school Monday?" she asked swing a little bit. She abhored when other kids made of the new ones just for the fact that they were new and that was it. Since the first time she saw that happening she tried her best to help the kids that were new to have a better first day experience. She smiled a little. "I hope I do anyway," she added as a second thought.

"Yeah, I guess I will," She said, smiling. She already had some forged documents-birth certificates, school records, things of that nature-on hand in case she needed it, so transferring into school wouldn't be a problem. "It'll be nice to know someone there..." She said, "Mind showing me the ropes?" She really had no idea how to act in a situation like that. She'd just go with the flow, she supposed. "What grade are you in?" She asked. Whatever grade she was in, Clara would enroll in, too. That way, it would be easier to stay in contact with her, she supposed.

Miley smiled. "I'm in eleventh grade actually," she said answering her quetion. "Will you be enrolling as Junior or a Senior because you do look too old to be a Sophomore or Freshman," she added. She didn't want to insult she just wanted to know. The more Miley knew the better and more confortable she felt around people. She tilted her head waiting for an answer all while she kept swing slowly. She wondered why Clara hadn't taken a seat yet

Clara took a seat besides Miley on the swings, gently pushing herself back and forth with the toe of one shoe. "A junior," She told her. She didn't think it would take two years to recruit the Cullens (or not), but she might end up wanting to stay around Forks a little longer, and it would be nice to have that extra year in school. She might never have attended school before, but that didn't mean she didn't know anything, so eleventh grade would be easy enough to adjust to. She probably knew most of the things she'd be taught already.

Miley nodded. "That's cool," she said smiling. She was glad that they were going to be in the same grade because that met that they would see a lot of eachother which would probably make Clara fit in faster if that's what she wanted. Miley herself didn't want to fit in fit in with the cheerleaders and football players and she was her own person but she didn't know if Clara liked to fit in or stand out like Miley did but that was something Miley would just have to find out later.

"Yeah," Clara agreed with a nod, "Cool." She wasn't sure where she'd want to fit in the school. She'd be happy enough in the background, not the center of attention. It was more of Jack's way to be in center stage, getting all the looks. And that was fine with Clara, as long as he didn't try to drag her out into the spotlight with him. She'd probably just end up hanging out with Miles, try to befriend her friends. And maybe the Cullens, to see if that would help them join up with them in their fight.

Miley noticed a very small awkward silence brewing and didn't want it to go to a full out awkward silence and decided to speak. "So tell me more about yourself and your family...." she said smiling. She turned her head slightly towards her then looked straight again and continued to swing. She was glad that she had come to the playground in the middle of night if not she wouldn't have met Clara and find out that they were going to the same high school.

"Its just my twin brother Jack and Me," She told her, "And our cousin, Titanus. He takes care of us." That was what they usually called Titanus, when they were around humans, though he was more like a grandfather to him. He'd been a father figure to their mother, and their father, before they died, and raised her and her brother. But he was far too young looking to pass as a real grandfather. "Our parents died when we were really little," She told her. She just hoped she wouldn't get a pile of pity for it.
