True Werewolves, or Children of the Moon, differ from shape-shifters in several ways. The major difference is that while shape-shifters can shift more or less at will, while Children of the Moon shift only when the moon is full (the night of the full moon, as well as the night before and after) and not of their own free will. They eat only while transform; most consume human flesh but others have learned to survive on animal meat instead. Unlike in Vampires, eating animal meat does not make them any weaker. In fact the opposite is true; eating animal meat seems to make them stronger.
Werewolves are also much stronger than shape-shifters, a single one able to easily match a vampire. Children of the Moon are also generally solitary creatures, not living in packs often, usually just on their own and perhaps with a mate. They are unable to imprint and cannot have children with each other. However, a female werewolf is able to bear a human male's child (the pregnancy passes much faster than normal).A male vampire and female werewolf can also reproduce together, but this is rare, mostly due to the animosity between the two groups. Male werewolves cannot impregnate any females.
Like vampires, Children of the Moon are unusually beautiful and are immortal. They do not sparkle in the sunlight; They glow in the moonlight instead. They can only be killed by being torn apart and burned; silver has no affect on them.
