Elina sighed, her arms folded on her knees and her chin resting on her arms. The wind blew silently, ruffling her hair as she looked out at the water. It looked as though a storm were brewing; she could feel the weather shifting slowly, her dark eyes flickering back towards where she came from. It didn’t matter if she sat through it, she wouldn’t get sick, in fact, and to any doctor she already seemed to be running a fever. Stretching her long legs out in front of her, her position shifting as she leaned back on her hands, the fifteen year old looked to the sky, rather than staring continuously at the water lapping at the beach.
Humming slightly to a tone she had stuck in her head, her feet moved along with the beat. It was lonely sitting there alone, but it seemed rare that she was ever alone, between phasing and going to school – not to mention keeping her mom entertained when she was actually home. Somehow, being alone didn’t bother her quite as much as it used to.
Smiling brightly as she thought she had heard someone approach, she shut her eyes. “Hey,” she greeted happily, even though she really didn’t know who it was. It didn’t matter, she was safe in La Push, no vampires would really come in here, not without trouble of their own. Even if something were to happen, her happiness couldn’t be touched. Finally re-opening her eyes, Elina looked up slowly, trying to get a look at whoever she had heard approaching.

Gwen walked along the beach, her loose hair being tossed about by the wind blowing. She checked the pockets of her jeans and her hoodie for a hair holder, and found nothing, cursing herself for not having one. She wished she'd known it was , so breezy today; she would've grabbed one before leaving to go down to the beach. But the wind started to die down, and Gwen tucked loose strands of her windblown hair behind her ears.
She saw a girl, around her age, sitting on the beach, her eyes shut as she greeted her happily, despite the fact that they were strangers. "Hello," Gwen returned with a smile as the girl looked up at her. "I'm Gwen."

Elina was almost surprised when she didn’t recognize the voice, but quickly figured that she probably didn’t live on the rez, or go to her school for that matter. Her dark eyes met with the girls, her smile only growing at the thought of meeting someone new. It was always slightly exciting, the possibility of making a new friend. Sitting up straight, she pushed her hair out of her face, tucking it being her ears without much purpose as it just blew away from her ear.
“Nice to meet you,” she grinned, hitting her hands together to knock the sand off of them, “I’m Elina.” The other girl, Gwen, seemed innocent enough, nice enough to approach and introduce herself rather than just walk past and ignore her. “You can sit if you want,” she added kindly, half thinking about adding an ‘I wont bite’ comment before she realized it was a bit to close to home. She did bite after all… just not humans. She was about to ask if she went to the school in Forks as well, but she’d already said enough. Some people just didn’t like those who rambled endlessly.

"Nice to meet you too, Elina," She said with another smile. She wasn't anyone she'd ever seen before. She figured that she lived on the rez, not in Forks, and probably went to school there too. Gwen had no problems at all with making a new friend, though, so she was happy to meet someone new.
As Elina suggested she sit, Gwen did so, sitting cross legged on the cool sand. "So you live here in La Push I guess?" She said, "Considering I haven't seen around Forks High School." Gwen really couldn't think of another alternative, unless Elina was homeschooled or something.
