Maybe Tom Sawyer had a bit more luck After all, he got people to paint his fence
Sighing in slight relief, she smiled. "Oh. That's good, then." Her voice sounded light and soft. With a subtle air punch, she smiled. "I guess I'm just that amazing." She teased, grinning at Titanus. "Well then... I'm glad I ran into that bear." She said softly. Her eyes still twinkled as she spoke. Changing her position from laying to sitting, she faced him.
"Yeah... when I was like three, he used to tell me a lot of stories about the fights with vampires and werewolves." Her voice was becoming quiet. "He died a few months after my third birthday, and my mom married the freak who you met in the woods." She shook her head as she thought of all of the hits and kicks she took from Jason, for her mother. Instinctively, she checked her arms. "Wh--" She stopped, stunned. The bruises were gone. "Why don't I have any bruises?" She asked Titanus. If he asked, she'd tell him why she would have wounds. She gingerly touched her arm, feeling for any tenderness. Still surprised, she gave Titanus a questioning look.
Her eyes lit up as she heard that she'd grow in strength and speed and she couldn't die. She wasn't so sure about silver, though.Raising one eyebrow, she thought of who the Volturi might be. "I've always wondered why the vampires would hate werew--us." She said, realizing that since she was now a werewolf, they hated her as well. The Cullen Family. That name sounded familiar. Then she figured out why. She went to that school. Forks High. She still went there, having two classes with Emmett Cullen. That's where she knew them... school. "Um... what about school. And work...?" She mumbled, assuming the answer. The next day was a Monday. Plus, she knew that her scent was now changed into that of a wolf.

Titanus listened to her speak of her father, and wondered how the man had learned of the vampires and werewolves. He was almost tempted to ask how the man died-he knew the Volturi disposed of those who they thought knew too much about their world, that or changed them into vampires. He sincerely hope that wasn't what had happened to her father.
"You'll heal much faster now, on the rare occasions that you get wounded," He told her as she searched her arms for bruises. He hadn't bruised her, only bit her; and that was easy enough to see on her shoulder. It was already healing, but he knew it would take longer than a regular wound. He wondered why she'd be looking for bruises. "That guy..your stepfather. He hits you, doesn't he?"
As she mentioned wondering why the vampires hated the werewolves. "I sort of my fault, in a way. I got in a fight with one of the Volturi leaders, when we were both young. His name was Caius, we nearly killed each other in a fight. I got over it-but Caius-he was terrified of all our kind after that. So he's set to work killing every child of the moon in the world, and the Volturi's explanation is that we are the natural enemy of the vampire. Our fight happened so long ago, that most of the newly created vampires believe it without question."
He thought about her question, about what do about her human life. "I'd call in sick tomorrow," He explained, "I'm guessing you go to Forks High School, with my...well, I suppose you could call them my children, but that's not exactly what they are, they're more like siblings now...anyway, their names our Jack and Clara. You'll meet them later...but I digress. You can keep on going to school, and work, even stay with your family, you just have to be free the three nights of the full moon." [/blockquote]

Maybe Tom Sawyer had a bit more luck After all, he got people to paint his fence
Smiling pretty broadly at his statement about healing, she let relief wash over her. Her happiness was short-lived. Looking down, she bit her lip and let her arm fall to her lap. "Yeah. He does. And he has since I was fourteen." she mumbled, but she knew that he could hear her. Gulping, she gave her arm another quick glance before looking up to meet his eyes. "But he doesn't do it to my mom or my little brother. He loves them..." She forced out her last phrase as much as she forced out the sad smile that followed. She was glad that they weren't getting hit. That's what sucked. Not that he didn't hit her mother and brother, but that he didn't love her. He wished she wasn't born. It was almost like, since she wasn't his daughter, she was spoiled blood. It was as if he would do anything in his power to make her suffer.
Smiling a little, she let out a soft chuckle. "Nice job." She quietly looked at him and winked. "But it's kinda retarded that he holds such a bad grudge. Just get over it already." She rolled her eyes, adding emphasis to her annoyance over the guy named Caius. Smiling, she blushed a little before asking quietly, "Um... can we go too the store soon? I'm really hungry..." She looked down at her nails as she spoke, almost hoping that Titanus didn't hear her. "Oh! Do I get to glow?" She asked eagerly, probably sounding like a two-year-old. However, she didn't care.
Her mind wandered. What color would she be? Silver, Chocolate, Black, White-like him? Would she be able to talk to him as a wolf? Was she going to be able to get food? What if she attacked a human!? All the questions raced through her mind as she let her fingers drum against her thigh.
When he talked about calling her in sick, she smiled. "Okay, thank you." She let her gaze wander about the room after drifting to his eyes. "Wait. You have kids?" Her head whirled to look at him like he was made for an asylum. Through this, she was trying to hold back laughter of disbelief. The saying was true. Never judge a book by its cover. Then she thought of something. "How old are you, anyway?" She asked, completely forgetting her previous question. Raising an eyebrow, she crossed her arms. Silently wincing, she realized that her shoulder still throbbed. "Their names sound familiar." She mumbled, shrugging with one shoulder.
She could keep working, going to school, and... stay with her family. What family? "I-I can't stay with them anymore. After what I did to my stepfather, my mom will probably think that I'm some mental issue and send me to a boarding school, or something. After all, she holds the worst grudges... Either way, they aren't my family any more." She slowly spoke, not realizing that she was talking out loud., lowering her gaze rather quickly. Realizing something, she sighed and spoke again. "But if I don't go back and take the punches, who will. My mom? I'm not letting that happen..." She spoke, extremely quietly. This was more to herself, than to Titanus. After all, she wasn't really fond of talking about this. This, however, was an exception. She was not only in a daze, but she was also a different person...err... species. When she rose her head this time, she held ferocity in her eyes. "Okay, cool. So I'll go back to my house after tonight?" She asked, unaware that he heard what she was talking about beforehand.

He felt bad for her, having to be in that sort of environment, and he could tell that the smile and the words that came with it were forced. At least her brother and mother weren't being attacked either.
He nodded at her request to go to the store. "Yeah, we can go soon. We just better bandage your shoulder." He chuckled as she asked about glowing. "Yes, you'll glow, whenever you're in the moonlight."
He wasn't surprised when she didn't believe he had kids. "They're not exactly my kids...I just raised them after their parents were killed," He explained. "But I'm around 2000 years old. Though physically I'm only nineteen."
"If you take another hit from him, I don't think he'll be hitting you again anytime soon," He told her. If he hit her, he'd be the one in pain, not her. That would definitely raise some questions, not to mention the fact that she would've been gone from sunset yesterday until sunrise tomorrow. "But I've got no problem with you going home after tonight. Though you might want to stop by there today and get a change of clothes. Or Clara could probably lend you some. You're about the same size as her."

Maybe Tom Sawyer had more luck After all, he got people to pain his fence
Looking down, she played with her bracelets. "Thanks..." She mumbled, letting out a slight sigh. With it, another grumble erupted. Blushing, Sawyer looked at the comforter. Her eyes lit up a little when he told her that she would glow. With a small air punch and a hiss of 'yes' she smiled. He actually had a nice smile. She hadn't noticed that before.
Her smile faded as she listened to him talk. "Oh... That's... depressing." She said quietly. So, Jack and Clara's parents were killed. "T-two thousand? Woah." She said, surprised. 'And not so shabby for an old guy.' She didn't dare say it out loud, but he really did look pretty good. You know... for his age? "So I'm always going to be eighteen and a half?" She raised one eyebrow, a little happy. She liked how she appeared. A slight smirk played on her lips as she spoke.
That's when she wondered how strong she really was. Looking at her stomach, she poked it a couple of times. It didn't feel that muscular. "Really, now?" She asked, more to herself than to Titanus. She tilted her head a little before shrugging. then, she realized something. That meant she was talking out loud when she was thinking. "Aww crap. You heard that?" She asked, sighing in defeat. "Frickwaffle."
She shook her head, somewhat. "I can pack my bag tonight. You don't have to take me in. Last year, I ran away. I lived by myself for four months before they found me. I can do it again." She tave him a sad smile, her mind whirling at the memories. The time when she just upped and left the house, not looking back. She felt bad, sure, but she knew what had happened. He turned on their dog. Now, Buffy laid in the dirt in their back yard.
Sure life sucked out in the woods, but she dealt with it. She went to the store at night or early in the morning. They found her one day when she was trying to sneak around the neighborhood. Jason jumped her and held her by the wrists, dragging a kicking and screaming victim all the way to her home.

He chuckled at her enthusiastic response to learning that she would glow. He'd never seen a werewolf so enthusiastic about getting to glow. Usually, most just viewed as an annoyance. It kept them from blending in well at night, unless it was overcast.
Her reaction to his age didn't really surprise him. He highly doubted that she met someone who'd lived much more than a century, let alone a couple millenia. He nodded as she questioned her strenght, poking at her stomach, but raised an eyebrow as she realized he had heard what she probably hadn't meant to say. "Frickwaffles?" He repeated, confounded by the phrase, but soon shook his head and continued. "But, yeah. You'll be plenty strong soon enough, even if you don't exactly look it."
As she suggested that she just run away, that they didn't have to take her in. "You don't have to go off to live in the woods or anything," He told her, "We have a spare room here. You're welcome to stay. Besides, you might be better off, with other werewolves around."

Maybe Tom Sawyer had a bit more luck After all, he got people to paint his fence
When he questioned one of her words, that just crossed the line. "Yes. I say it rather than dropping the F-bomb on people." She sniffed, crossing her arm. I mean sure he was old-style, but that didn't mean that he could question her amazing words! Well... maybe he could. "Pssh. I might even be stronger than you!" She teased, smiling at him.
Surprised, it was her turn to question him. "Really? You're sure you'd do that for me?" She smiled a little. Nobody was that nice to somebody like Sawyer. "Thank you." She had the urge to hug him, but she refrained.
Clearly, the duo had been conversing for a long enough time, that time passed quickly. Looking out the window, she saw that dusk was going to be on them in a heartbeat. Excited to be a wolf, she leaped off of the bed and dashed to the door. Her sprint was at an inhuman speed and the rush was getting to her. However, she had to stop suddenly at the threshold. Sawyer mentally kicked herself for acting so rashly. Embarrassed by her haste, she took a small breath before continuing.
Silently, she opened the door and let her eyes feast on the setting sun. As she waited for the change, she sat down on the dry earth. "Wow... I love how pretty the sky looks at this hour." She spoke softly, her voice quieting, laced interest. She ran her small tongue across her light pink lips and brushed away a strand of pitch black hair. Her head was tilted to the left so that her bangs wouldn't fall into her face again.
Sitting Indian style, she looked behind her to see if Titanus was anywhere near her. She could smell him, as weird as that sounded. Raising an eyebrow, she spoke aloud. "You... smell." the simple sentence, she realized, could be taken the wrong way. "No, wait! What I mean is... uh... like... you smell different. Not like weird or anything, just uhm..." Her throat tingled as she let words spill out of her mouth. Trailing from her ramble, Sawyer blushed violently and looked down at her skin.
She was... glowing. "Yay! I'm glowing! I'm actually glowing!" She spoke happily as glee lit up her small features. Sighing, she subtly brushed off the seat of her pants and stood up. With a little skip and a slight hop, Sawyer rested next to Titanus. Looking up, and I mean literally looking UP, she awaited the next rather important event.

"Ah," Titanus said at the explanation of the odd word she used. "And of course you can stay. I figure it is the least you can do considering the fact I've just changed your life drastically without your permission or anything."
As she looked out the window, he did as well, realizing how late it was, it was nearly dusk again. He watched as she sprinted off the bed and down to the back door, exiting the house. He stood and grabbed a pair of empty backpacks from his closet, grabbed a clean set of clothes and stuffed it in one, and slung it over his shoulder before heading out the door, carrying the empty one in his hand.
As he appeared at the backdoor, he smiled lightly as he saw her looking. "Yeah, you smell different than last night too," He told her, "Not in a bad way though." He moved to stand next to her, tilting her head a bit as she looked gleefully down at her own skin, which was glowing in the early light of the moonlight. She was beautiful, he realized. How had he missed that?
He shook his head, remembering there was something more important at hand. "You might want to take off your clothes," He said, then quickly added, "Then tend to get destroyed if you change in them....I'll give you some privacy." Setting down the empty backpack, he turned away, heading for the woods. Once he was a decent distance away, he stripped down, he placed his dirty clothes in his backpack, hanging it on the branch of a tree where he'd be able to find them later.

"Pssh! It's no problem! The only difference is that I'll become a wolf on the nights of the full moon." Sawyer shrugged like it happened every day. Standing up, the dark haired girl twirled once. For the first time in what seemed like centuries, she felt like a child. She had always been that girl who had to take care of herself because daddy wasn't there and mommy was too sick. She finally had the urge to have fun, not to be a survivor but to be a thriver.
Looking at Titanus, she sighed. Why did he look so good glowing? I mean really! He was just so... Right, back on track. "You might want to take off your clothes," she heard. Cocking an eyebrow, she relaxed and nodded when he spoke again. Viewing the small backpack. She sighed and took off everything, after Titanus was well out of sight, of course. Stuffing it in the bag, she zipped it up. Unsure where to put it, she just shoved it behind a bush. After that, she took her nude self and erm... Well, hid. Thank God the transformation was on her in a matter of seconds.
It felt like fire was surging through her. Well, maybe fire was too intense. More like, a warm feeling. Of course, her molecular structure was being altered as well, but still. She felt cozy, almost. Sighing, she looked down. The ground was closer and she soon realized that she had fur and a muzzle. Blinking, she had her nose in the air. Inhaling, she smelled a familiar scent. Quickly, she let her paws take her to where the trail led.
She hadn't seen herself. She hadn't seen the oil-black wolf that took the place of the girl. Breathing out heavily, the new wolf looked up. The trail had lead her to a slight clearing where she had a feeling Titanus was. Letting her paws carry her again, the dark furred wolf saw a glimpse of white. Twisting around, she faced another wolf. Unafraid, she slowly padded up to the other animal. As if there was a smug smirk playing on her lips, Sawyer blinked. Her dark eyes searched for the familiar golden ones. The eyes that reassured her even when she didn't need or want it. Even if it was for just a few hours, she couldn't help but trust those eye and the person behind them. Quite frankly, I'm screwing word count. Anyway, uh... can they talk to each other since they're kind of... bonded...?

Titanus was continually impressed by the way she was handling this. Nothing seemed to faze her in the least. That was a good thing, since she still had much to learn about the supernatural world, that humans knew so little about.
Not long after he'd left her, he felt his body begin to change, shifting smoothly into the wolf form that felt as familiar, comfortable, and natural to him as that of the body he'd been born into. He sat and waited for her to join him. He soon caught her scent, heard her moving, and stood as he came face to face with a jet black wolf, locking eyes with her. He gave her a smile of sorts, his lips pulling back to expose his teeth in a grin, and then turned, expecting her to follow, catching the scent of a deer not far away.
She would need to feed as soon as possible, he remembered the hunger he'd felt when he'd first transformed, the hunger gnawing at him, his body needing energy after the first shift. ((They won't be able to communicate telepathically, like the shapeshifters can, unless you decide to make her a telepath. Titanus is able speak (vocally, not mentally), because he can mimic any sound; other children of the moon can't speak like a human when they've shifted.))

((Yes to being a Telepath ))
Her dark eyes shone as she faced the white wolf. She watched as his lips pulled back in a semblance of a smile. In return, Sawyer playfully pawed him. When he started to move, she did too. Lost, she wasn't sure what was going on.
In the back of her head, she heard a little voice. It was more like a reminder or a to-do list. Actually, no... It was like somebody reminding himself of what to do. It had something to do with eating. That's when she actually felt the pang of hunger hit her. Her stomach quietly growled and the slick wolf looked at her paws.
With the scent of deer in the air, her mouth watered. Lifting her head into the air, she quietly began to trail the animal. The little voice was all but forgotten. She slowly padded along, letting her instincts take over. Looking behind her, she realized she had passed Titanus. Pausing to let him take the lead again, she felt adrenaline seep through her veins. With a nearly silent whimper, Sawyer stood back up. Trailing the deer, she paused in the bushes, letting the animal pause. Her fur blended in with the shadows. Jumping, she landed on the doe.
With a quiet snarl and a bit to the throat, the doe was gone. Loyally, she sat by the deer and awaited Titanus. In her mind, she was squealing. 'How'd I do? HOW'D I DOOO?' Her eyes glimmered brightly in the moonlight as she let her tail flop against the ground. Cocking her head to the side, she didn't realize that Titanus could hear her. She didn't realize that she was projecting her thoughts.

She certainly did seem excited for her first hunt, moving much faster than him as they went after the deer. As she fell behind him again, he moved ahead, sticking to the underbrush, slipping silently through it to give him some cover. His fur color didn't give him much of an advantage in hunting, unlike hers. He was impressed to see her take the deer with ease.
What surprised him, though, was when he heard her voice. Not with his ears, but in his head. "How did you do that?" He asked, his human voice spilling from a partly open wolf's maw, not lips or teeth or tongue needing to move for his auditory illusions. "Speaking into my head, I mean, not taking down the deer. You did very well, by the way....you must have a power...did I tell you about those?"

Opening her own muzzle, she only whimpered. Frustrated, she decided to just think out what she was going to say. Looking at Titanus, she thought again. "Why thank you!" She thought, happiness filling her. Confused, she tilted her head. "And what are you talking about? No you didn't tell me about powers." A perplexed look overcame her delicate features. "I don't know! I um... just thought, I guess. And earlier, I could hear your to-do list." With a small giggle at the end, she quickly stopped talking--err... thinking. "How did you do that?" She asked eagerly. She wasn't at all sure how the heck Titanus could duplicate a human's voice in his wolf form.
Padding over to the deer, she sat down by it. She looked at her trail marks, light, but clearly embedded. The print of a wolf, its nails above it. All of it was now her. She sighed and gave a semblance of a smile, before placing a dirty paw on the broken animal's head. She gave Titanus a look that asked if she cold eat it.
Sitting by the head, she waited for him to respond. She left one paw on the jawline of the doe. Her mouth was watering, but she resisted, making sure she was allowed to eat. Her long black tail softly beat against the forest floor and she watched his golden gaze intently. Obviously, she could not wait until she heard this little segment about powers.

He could tell she was confused by the fact that he could speak in this form. It had been a while since he'd met another child of the moon, aside from Jack and Clara, and they were used to his ability to speak. She also saw her fidget around the deer. "Its your kill," He said, "Go ahead and eat."
"I can mimic any noise," He explained, "And it seems that you're a telepath." Titanus wondered what had lead into her gaining that ability. "Normally, one of your abilities get enhanced. I was always very good about mimicking sounds, for example-I used to do a lot of bird calls and things..."
