Clara sat in the crook of a sturdy tree branch, looking up at the sky. Stars dotted the sky, but out towards the east, she could see the sky start to lighten in turn light pink, fading from the deep dark blue of the rest of the sky. It would be dawn very soon.
Her stargazing was interrupted when she heard something shifting around close by. She decided to move on, hoping whatever was in the woods wasn't something unfriendly. She leapt quietly from the tree, moving away at a slow but steady pace. She left the forest, soon finding herself in a peaceful meadow, one she'd never seen before. It looked beautiful, and she couldn't help but stop for a moment to enjoy it

Julianna was getting desperate, it was getting closer to dawn and she still hadn't found any wild animals that she could take back to the house so that she and her family could eat. As she was searching the forest, she noticed someone sitting near by, and although she was trying to be as quiet as she possibly could be, she still rustled a few leaves, making the other person leave.
Following at a safe distance, Julianna stopped at the edge of the forest and a meadow. Keeping to the shadows of the trees, Julianna moved around some so that she could get a better look at the person's face.
Finally, she got a some-what clear view of the person's face. It was a girl. And even though she was only half vampire, Julianna did have vampire senses and had a small feeling that this girl wasn't a threat to her, and maybe, just maybe was a little bit like Julianna herself.
Taking a few steps away from the trees, Julianna cleared her throat to announce her presence and so that she would be able to actually start talking.
"Excuse me, but do you know where I might find some wild animals around here?" Julianna asked.

Clara looked up at the girl as she approached and cleared her throat. It was the same person who she heard before, she was sure of it. There was something odd about the girl's scent, but she wasn't sure what. A mix of human, and vampire, both and neither. Then it hit her; this girl must be a hybrid. She was surprised, human-vampire hybrids were rare (not as rare as her kind, since there were only two that she knew of, but still quite rare). She could end up being a good ally, if she showed interest in what she and her family wanted to do.
She shook her head at her question. "Not exactly, no," She said. She hadn't been hunting, and so hadn't been paying much attention to the animals around. "Just keep searching through the forest, that's the best advice I can give."

"Thanks. I'm Julianna by the way." Julianna said extending her hand to the girl before sitting down.

"I'm Clara," She said, taking her offered hand and shaking it, "Its nice to meet you, Juliana." She sat down across from the other girl, folding her legs and placing her hands in her lap. "You're a hybrid, aren't you?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. She didn't see any harm in asking, just to confirm. She was a hybrid too, after all, just a different sort.

"It's nice to meet you too Clara." Julianna said with a sigh, it might be easy for her to make friends again. "Yes, I'm a human/vampire hybrid. My dad is a vampire and my mom was a human." she answered. "You're a hybrid too, aren't you?" she asked.

Clara nodded when she explained that she was a human-vampire hybrid, that her father was a vampire, her mother a human. She had already figured that much out on her own though, since female vampires couldn't get pregnant. She nodded when she asked if she was a hybrid too. "I am. My father was a vampire, and my mother was a child of the moon," She said, before she looked to Juliana, anxious. Many vampires disliked, or avoided Children of the Moon, because of the Volturi's opinion of them.

"Don't worry, I don't judge. I hate when people try and control who I get along with and who I shouldn't even talk to. Are you the only hybrid that is vampire and child of the moon, or are there others?" Julianna asked, her thoughts moving to George and Calli.

Clara smiled and nodded at her response, assuring her that she wouldn't judge her for being part werewolf. "Its only me, and my twin brother Jack, as far as I know," She told her, "Do you know other human vampire hybrids?" She'd met a few in her travels with Jack and Titanus, but she hadn't met any in the area, until now.

"Myself, and my younger siblings George and Calli." Julianna said. "But other than that, I don't know of any other human/vamp hybrids." she added. "How long have you and your brother lived around here?" she asked.

"You have younger siblings?" Clara asked, surprised. Mothers of vampire-human hybrids, she'd heard, always died after giving birth. Perhaps they were half-siblings. 'We haven't lived here very long, just a couple of weeks. We're not sure how long we'll be staying either..." She explained. They really weren't. It depended on how long it would take them to convince the Cullens to join them and the Romanian Coven, or they gave up trying and moved on.

"Yeah, I had two older half siblings, but they and my mom died a year ago." Julianna said as she looked down, not wanting Clara to see the sadness in her voice. "But my dad, my younger siblings and I survived." she added, starting to feel a little guilty about surviving while half of her family didn't.

Clara hadn't meant to upset her. "I'm sorry to hear that," She said, "I lost my mother too, and my father...but I was just a baby then." She supposed that it must have been much harder for her to lose her mother, and her siblings just a year prior.

"It's okay. It's just a little upsetting to think about. Being as how they were all human, and died almost on impact, where as my father, younger siblings and I got out with a few scrapes and bruises, but those healed quickly." Julianna said, revealing most of what happened, but not all of it. "I guess we have a few things in common then. Don't we?" she asked with a small smile.

"Yeah, I guess we do..." Clara said. Both had lost part of their family, both were half-vampire. It was often times so easy to find similarties in people, if you didn't give much attention to the differences. "How long have you and your family lived in Forks?" She asked.

"A year. The day of the accident, my family and I were actually moving to Forks. So my dad didn't think that there was a point in heading back to Seattle, so we just continued on to the new house." Julianna said.

"Ah," Clara said. She hadn't meant to bring that subject back up, but she had no way of knowing that. She wasn't a mind reader, or anything like that. All she could do was hide. "So I guess you've gotten used to living here by now, then, huh?" She said. She still wasn't exactly settled in, not used to being in one place for very long.

"Kinda. I usually stay at home, so I haven't made any friends, but when we need food, I'm the one that goes out and gets it. My dad likes staying home and taking care of George and Calli, so he expects me to do the hunting for the family." Julianna said with a small smile. "But other than that, yeah, I'm used to living here." she added.

Clara nodded. "I've made a few friends, but not too many yet," She told her, "My brother and I go to the high school here-just because we've never been to a high school before. We wanted to see what its like. But we haven't done much else around here besides that."

"Well, at least you are a step ahead of me. Hey, would you like to come hunting with me? And then come over to the house?" Julianna asked, tilting her head to the side. "We could invite your brother to come over as well." she added, not knowing if Clara would go to too many places without her brother.
